This revelation came during Li’s opening speech titled “Everyone is a Developer” at Baidu’s AI Create conference, where approximately 5,000 attendees gathered to delve into the latest advancements in AI technology.

During his address, Li unveiled plans for another round of their esteemed AI development competition, offering an enticing prize of 50 million yuan ($7 million). This competition aims to further spur innovation in the AI landscape and propel Baidu to the forefront of technological advancement.
Highlighting the company’s commitment to democratizing AI, Li showcased three powerful development tools—AgentBuilder, AppBuilder, and ModelBuilder. The Ernie bot, inspired by Baidu’s extensive language model Ernie, was introduced over a year ago and gained approval for public use from Beijing in August. Its capabilities have since been leveraged by smartphone giants like Samsung and Honor, who have integrated Ernie’s AI prowess into select mobile devices.
According to the company, as of December, over 26,000 businesses were actively tapping into Ernie’s capabilities on a monthly basis, with the chatbot handling an impressive volume of over 50 million queries each day.
