On Saturday night, the Czech Republic’s Krystyna Pyszková emerged victorious in the glitzy Miss World competition hosted in India. Out of 112 competitors, Yasmina Zaytoun from Lebanon finished first runner-up in the tournament that took place in the city of Mumbai the financial & entertainment ‘Hub’ of India. Sini Shetty, 22, represented India, who hosted the tournament after 28 years. Mumbai native Shetty, the 2022 Femina Miss India World, unfortunately, failed to land in the top 4 of the competition.

Krystyna Pyszkova remarked in an interview that Winning the Miss World title is a dream come true for her. She feels incredibly privileged to represent her nation and the ideals of ‘beauty with a purpose’ on such a prestigious international stage.

Miss World 2024 Krystyna Pyszková waved to the large audience inside the Jio World Convention Center and gave hugs to a few of the other contenders as Poland’s Karoline Bielawska, the current Miss World, handed the crown to her. On Saturday, March 9, the Miss World 2024 pageant grand finale was held in Mumbai. The Miss World pageant has only been conducted in India twice, the first time being in 1996. For this reason, the contest is coming back to India following a 28-year absence.

A huge international audience was treated to a display of India’s rich cultural heritage, customs, arts & crafts, including textiles. Dancers performed on hits from Bollywood while donning elaborately embroidered skirts and blouses.

Miss World 2024 competition also included various other contests within itself. Miss World Top Model, Beauty with a Purpose, Head-to-Head Challenge, Miss World Talent, World Top Designer Award, Miss World Red Carpet Special, and Miss World Sports/ Miss World Sportswoman, are some of the events in which beauty contestants compete against one another in the Miss World contest.

The coveted title, ‘Miss World’ has been won by India on six occasions: India’s previous winners were Reita Faria in 1966, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan in 1994, Diana Hayden in 1997, Yukta Mukhey in the year 1999, Priyanka Chopra in 2000, and Manushi Chillar in 2017. Conducted at the Jio World Convention Centre in BKC, this year’s Miss World pageant attracted contestants from 112 countries across the globe.

Along with becoming an international model, Krystyna Pyszková also studies and volunteers. The 24-year-old works as a model while pursuing two degrees in business administration and law. She established the ‘Krystyna Pyszko Foundation’ and now funds its activities. Krystyna’s greatest achievement, according to Miss World Organization, was starting an English school in Tanzania for impoverished kids, where she also volunteered. She spent nine years in an art academy and has a passion for music and art. She loves to play both violin and transversal flute.

Bollywood Film producer Sajid Nadiadwala, former Indian cricketer Harbhajan Singh, Chairperson and CEO of the Miss World Organization, Jamil Saidi, Strategic Partner & Host – Miss World India, actors Kriti Sanon and Pooja Hegde, social worker Amruta Fadnavis, Vineet Jain, MD of Bennett, Coleman & Co. Limited, Julia Morley, news anchor Rajat Sharma, and three previous Miss Worlds, including Manushi Chillar, were among the twelve-member panelists for the grand finale.

The prestigious event was hosted by Karan Johar, renowned filmmaker & director, and Megan Young, former Miss World. Shaan, Neha Kakkar, and Tony Kakkar gave powerful performances to get things going. At the event, a video message featuring Priyanka Chopra Jonas was shown, emphasizing the significance of the Miss World competition tagline, “beauty with purpose.”

At the 71st Miss World 2024 competition, Nita Ambani receives the Miss World Humanitarian Award in recognition of her work at the non-profit Reliance Foundation. The Miss World Organization’s Chairwoman, Julia Morley CBE, awarded her the honorary title. After receiving the award, Nita Ambani said that this honor is a tribute to the strength of kindness and service that unites us rather than just a personal accomplishment. The ageless Indian precepts of Satyam Shivam Sundaram, which stand for goodness, truth, and beauty, have led her on this path.
