Olivia Munn is sharing more about her health journey and the challenges she’s faced along the way.
In a recent interview with Vogue, the 43-year-old actress, known for her roles in “X-Men: Apocalypse” and “The Newsroom,” bravely disclosed that she underwent a hysterectomy as part of her battle against breast cancer. Munn revealed that she made the decision to remove her uterus, fallopian tubes, and ovaries last month, following her breast cancer diagnosis.
Her journey took a significant turn when she was prescribed Lupron, a medication that suppresses estrogen as part of her breast cancer treatment. Unfortunately, Munn experienced severe exhaustion as a side effect of the drug, which greatly impacted her daily life. She described the exhaustion as “next-level” and “debilitating,” recounting how it would hit her almost immediately upon waking up in the morning.
Seeking relief from these debilitating side effects, Olivia Munn explored alternative options and ultimately opted for a hysterectomy. While it was a difficult decision to make, she emphasized that it was the best choice for her well-being and her family. With a young son named Malcolm, Munn wanted to ensure that she could be fully present for him and not miss out on any precious moments of his childhood.

Reflecting on her journey, Munn expressed gratitude for the support she’s received and the opportunities she’s had to explore different treatment options. She acknowledged that not everyone has access to the same resources and emphasized the importance of having options when facing a cancer diagnosis.
Munn’s journey with breast cancer began earlier this year when she first revealed her diagnosis on Instagram. Since then, she has undergone multiple surgeries, including a double mastectomy, to combat the aggressive form of cancer.
In an interview with People magazine, Munn opened up about the timing of her diagnosis, which coincided with her scheduled film shoot in Germany. Despite the unexpected curveball, Munn faced her diagnosis head-on, recognizing that cancer doesn’t discriminate and can affect anyone, regardless of their circumstances.
Throughout her journey, Munn has remained resilient, using her platform to raise awareness about breast cancer and the importance of early detection. She hopes that by sharing her story, she can inspire other women to prioritize their health and advocate for their well-being.
