Indian rupee experienced a slight decline, falling by 4 paise to settle at 83.48 against the US dollar.

This drop was attributed to the robust performance of the American currency and an upward trend in global crude oil prices.

The dollar index, which measures the strength of the US dollar against a basket of six major currencies, edged up by 0.02%

The subdued trend in the domestic equity markets added to the rupee’s woes. The 30-share BSE Sensex dropped by 72.43 points.
