In the early hours of Tuesday, a tragic train derailment occurred in Jharkhand involving the Mumbai-Howrah Mail.

The derailment involved 22 coaches, with one coach colliding into another, causing a significant part of it to be crushed under the impact.

Initial reports suggest that the derailment may have been caused by an operational error or a mechanical failure involving the tracks or wheels.

The B-4 coach, where both fatalities occurred, required cutting to access potential trapped casualties.

Rescue efforts were swift, with a relief train sent by the Railways to transport the injured passengers to nearby hospitals.

The exact cause of the derailment is still under investigation. Track conditions, wheel integrity, and  train maintenance are being checked
