On Tuesday afternoon, downtown Youngstown was rocked by a powerful explosion.

Claimed the life of one individual and injured seven others, including one critically.

The explosion, which impacted a building housing a Chase bank and several apartments, happened without warning.

First responders, including the Youngstown Fire Department and local police, rushed to the scene.

Fire Chief Barry Finley initially suggested that the explosion might have been caused by a natural gas leak but emphasized that the exact cause remained under investigation.
